LOVE

Love is an emotion of strong affection and personal attachment.In philosophical context, love is a virtue representing all of human kindness, compassion, and affection. This is how I expressed my love towards my family by capturing portrait of them with dramatic and sort of vintage tone settings in it.The background was the Ledang Mountain which is related to the legend of Puteri Gunung Ledang. Am and will busy for this whole 3 months due to my big upcoming exam. Stay tuned!

Zul+Salamiah(Solemnization)

Last Saturday was quite a big day for me. I covered up my nephew's solemnization unofficially to build my confidence in shooting wedding events. It was a hot day and I was hungry at that time but I was happy in the mean time as I managed to covered this event properly.But there's some shots I failed to captured them properly. Anyway, here are some photos from me,enjoy!

Abu

Abu Bin Mat Din is a resident of Kampung Pandan Dalam for 45 years. He got married in the 1970's and divorced with his wife around 8 to10 years ago but without any heir. He has been living alone ever since. He will be 80 years old this June and still living himself in a humble wooden house. He have been my father's friend since 30 years ago and is a very good friend of my father. Even though he had been living single for a long time,he is still happy with his life,waking up watching TV1 with a cup of coffee, going to mamak stall and get back to sleep at night. He just stopped from running a restaurant and now running a small business around Gombak with his friends.

Urban Architecture

Urban architecture comprises buildings made for an urban setting, specifically for large or growing cities. With nearly half of the world's population currently living in urban cities, urban architecture has become a vital and thriving field of design. Special considerations of this area of design are concerned with the practicalities of city life, including high-capacity housing and workplaces, harmony of form and function, and, more recently, energy-efficient design.

For me, urban architecture still a new genre of photography in me and needs a really good art of seeing because you have to keep alert on your surrounding. The best timing to snap all the urban architectures is on early of the morning or during the golden hour. And the lens for sure is a wide-angled lens. I just discovered this genre of photography and hope to capture more urban architectures around Malaysia or maybe around the whole world

Terengganu

Hey, it's been a long absence. The blog was left abandoned since last year before my trip to East Coast of Malaysia, Terengganu. So, let's start with that journey. My father decided to go to Penang last 2 years because of the weather is fine otherwise, we might went to Terengganu last 2 years. We started our journey on the 13th December on 0800 hours with a hope that everything will be fine all the way to our first stop, Kemaman. Around 1535 hours, we arrived safely at our destiny, my nephew's house after around 6 hours of driving,seating in the car,eating and sleeping. The highway was totally challenging for my father because he is not used to the east coast highway. The hilly and crooked road really couldn't made me sleep at that time. On the first night in Kemaman, we went to a night market there and had our quick dinner there. After that,we went for a short walk on a 'pasar malam' nearby.

Next day, our tour guide for that day was my cousin's wife. Yeah,my siblings and I were that youngest cousins among the other cousins. We went to Pantai Kemasek and had a lot of shots, but most of them are kept private for personal only. Hehehe.

The view was so nice and the sky is better than in Kuala Lumpur.

We had our big ABC and some ice-creams and the wind was like so great. A great place to relax yourself. In the same day, we went to a village where most of them are fisherman.

And they make Keropok Lekor too. The most popular tit bits in Malaysia.

The next day was Friday. We started our journey around 10 am to Kuala Terengganu and took around 3 hours of driving. The view of the side of the road is so green. Sometimes,you can see the goats,the cows on the side of the road. As we arrived there,we went to our chalet at Pantai batu Burok and people said that was one of the hotspot in Kuala Terengganu. Before the day ends, we went to Masjid Kristal. It was a place where most of the replica of the mosque from all over the world were built there. Here goes a picture of us there.

We stayed for a night and the next day,we headed to Pasar Payang, a must place to go. The batiks, the cloths and I did buy a shirt and some souvenirs for my friends. A lot of picture snapped there but most of them are kept for personal memories.

Keropok Lekor Kering.

Some said that it was damn hot inside here but for me it was not really hot. Maybe when I was there it was raining, but whatever it is if you have money and you want to spend them on buying traditional cloths, here is the place. Then we checked out from the chalet around 1 pm and went back to Kemaman. On the way back home, I managed to capture a portrait of a thinking man.

We also managed to stopped at Dungun. The sea wave was so powerful and big.Some of the pictures were not published at my flickr. You can check more pictures here. AS we arrived back Kemaman,we had our rest and waited for the next day to go back to Kuala Lumpur. So the last morning at Terengganu, we started with a typical breakfast, Nasi Dagang and Ikan TOngkol. What a blast that morning. SO delicious and two thumbs up for that. And last but not least, we ended our journey and arrived back to Kuala Lumpur after 5 hours of driving from 10 am. To conclude, it was a great trip and I'll come back to Terengganu next time for sure as the places there were truly awesome.Thank you and hope you have the time to go there too.

Personal Portraiture

Had personal portraiture with my old friend, Afiq Azamuddin. I just keep thinking about my next plan in my photography journey. I love shooting portrait and that is my true passion in photography, I'm thinking about making money through personal portraiture. Just wait and see, maybe after I finished my PMR I'll start my plan. Haa, holidays. What a relief. In this entry, I just want to share my classic tone. I got my result and it was an 'okay'. By the way,I cannot go anyway yet till my brother finish his SPM,most scariest exam in Malaysian High School. This kind of classic tone can be seen in the flickr site where most of the pictures are film shots and naturally printed out with these kind of color. For me,to get various type of tones, we must explore and explore more photos from the internet. Last but not least, Happy Holiday..

Citizen | Candid | Kuala Lumpur

Living in the city, Kuala Lumpur is very busy and the place is quite dangerous for a boy like me. But there is a lot of interesting moment that sometimes describe the people there. Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Sorry for the long hibernate, I was not in the mood of writing what I feel all the way before this. So, fasting over and raya almost over. I celebrated and started the day of 1st Syawal just like last year, where my family and I went and did our prayer at the Masjid Al-Azim,the only mosque there. I meant the only big mosque that is near to my house. After finished the prayer, we went back home and pack our clothes and the climax, we gathered and forgive each other. Then we straight away got to Kajang, my father's side. I don't have much to say at there. Awesome, because we got $$$$. Hahaha,around 4p.m we started our journey to my mom's hometown, Pagoh, Johor. We spent three nights there. We had barbeque,gathering,and many more. Sorry, i don't have pictures. Why? I am so lazy.

This picture above was taken during my visit to my grandma's house. Very vintage. Then,after three nights, we went back Kuala Lumpur and there's a lot of Open House invitation. Besides, we had our own too, but just for family members. haha,

Then on the Friday,we had to go to school back. So sad...

Chotouch and KukuBesi Book Launching

On the 4th July, a big event was held at the Wisma Bentley. It was the Chotouch and KukuBesi book's launching. The photogrpher with no need any introduction, the Chotouch and KukuBesi colabrate each other and produce a book as the inspiration to the Candid photographers and the Conceptual photographers out there or to anyone who love photography.Personally, this event was a place where I met more friends from the Facebook, they were awesome. But I'm sorry Manic Mind because I am to shy that time to say hi to you. The concert was great,not much of spectators but too much of photographer. The music was oldy but it rocks my ears off. What important is I enjoyed it. Anyway, congrats Chot and Kuku Besi.

Fixie Dreamer

Fixie is just not a bike for me, it's a medium for me to travel everywhere easier. it's quite expensive but very beneficial activity. Arghh, I can't wait when can I get a fixie!Hahaha. I found people bought the frame for Rm20 from the besi buruk, some bought in a set about Rm500-Rm900 and some bought their fixie customly which is more costly. Fixie, I think will sure encourage me cycles everyday. Haaa. I don't know, hopefully I can get a fixie as soon as possible.

Smoke Bad

Smoking may look stylish to teens nowadays but they didn't realize the bads of smoking. Including me, I stopped smoking after I felt very weak when undergo my daily training past 3 years. It was very tiring, makes your brain more stupid and it kills you too.

Here are some consequences when you smoke.

1)Smoking makes you smell bad, gives you wrinkles, stains your teeth, and gives you bad breath.
2)Smokers get 3 times more cavities than non-smokers.
3)Smoking lowers your hormone levels.
4)You'll get many type of cancers.

So, make sure. No smoke. Think of your life. Live your life the fullest with all the goods.

Exam finished!! School's holiday coming, balik kampung. After finished my last paper, I went to my brother's class to assists them as they had no photographer to photograph the whole class in a picture. It was so kelam kabut yet a very happy moment too. They were enjoyed and happy all the time during the 'photoshoot' session. If anyone of the Lambda-ians view this picture and noticed that this photo looked under-exposed at the faces, don't worry. It's just my effort to make it 'vintage'. Anyway, good luck Lambda for your SPM.

Colours Of 1 Malaysia 2010

Marriage

I still remember when I first got my DSLR, I shot this wedding ceremony. Now, the couple are going to have child soon. They look very happy. Time flies so fast. They get married last year at December and now, they're going to have child. Wahhh. Surely the child will make them more happy.

Senior are always bad. I'd once been warned by the seniors to respect them as well. But sometimes they treat me like a king. Ahaha. This year, they're all gone as they finished their final year. I miss them.

Black And White(My Style)

Hey readers. The second post will be a tutorial, not a video tutorial but just something like tutorial on how to get a better B&W picture. In this case, you need a photoshop software(doesn't matter what version), and a picture. First, choose a picture and open it in the photoshop, then duplicate the background.

After you duplicated the background, go to filter> texture> grain. Make sure that you select the grain type to the enlarged one. For the intensity I usually put 45 while the below one is 35. But remember not to follow only this one. You can adjust to your own liking. Then click ok. Next, change the blending mode to Soft Light. Don't be panic of what you'd seen. I know the picture will looks something that is not right. Relax, reduce the opacity to your liking. I usually will put around 50-60%. Next step is you have to go to the gradient map and click the Black and White type. Click on the black colour and a box will pop-up. I usually will push the colour chooser a little bit above the solid black colour as you can see on the picture below while for the white colour, I'll pull it downwards a bit.

As you finish, then we're done. if you find that your contrast in black in the picture is too strong, you just have to reduce the background copy's opacity.

For this first post, I would like to say that this is going to be my blog, the real blog. I love big pictures and I am trying to keep writing about any tutorial. I had one in my head entitled 'Enhancement In Black&White' . I am in process doing it.
